The Oregon State city of Gresham, with a population in excess of 106,000, is located in Multnomah County. The Multnomah County Fairgrounds are in Gresham and were the home of Gresham Park racecourse. The 5 furlong oval dirt track, with a 176 metre home straight, opened in 1933; had an open air grandstand and benefitted from floodlights which allowed it to lay on evening meetings. The final meeting, attended by 6,900 people, was held on 2nd September 1969, culminating in a 2 mile race. The land was sold to a development group shortly after that final meeting, although up to 2005 greyhound racing was being staged close by.
Course today The land was used as a greyhound stadium until 2005 before being sold for development.
